First Look: Vans x Liberty.

"Vans and Liberty Art Fabrics have teamed up once again to create their Fall 2014 capsule collection. And this time around, the two design houses revisited some of Van's most iconic styles: The Old Skool, a midtop sneak, revamped by Liberty London's floral vine Lodden pattern; the Era outfitted by the Felix and Isabel fabric motif, which Zach Braff could have definitely used whilst filming Garden State; and the Sk8-Hi Reissue, which packs a floral punch with Liberty's Pepper print."

Fashion Collab: Target x Altuzarra.

Target has done it yet again!
The retail mogul is collaborating with high-fashion brand Altuzarra for a collection.
According to Nylon Mag "When it comes to designer collabs, Target's history really does span all over the map. The retail giant has channeled California femininity with Rodarte, effortless cool with Proenza Schouler, and prints from across the pond with its most recent partnership with Peter Pilotto. And now for fall, Target's taking things downtown--like, way  below 14th Street--by joining forces with Altuzarra

Since establishing his namesake label in 2008, Joseph Altuzarra has won a cult following for his luxe, sophisticated pieces with a decidedly edgy undertone. Think minimalist blouses with sheer paneling, silk draped dresses, and leather--lots of it. There's a reason why everyone from Vanessa Traina (his muse) to Kate Bosworth to Jennifer Lawrence are so obsessed. These are clothes that you can slip on and feel like a cooler, more confident version of yourself. As Altuzarra puts it, "As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel." Luckily everyone can feel that way this fall, when his Target collection drops nationwide.

Get ready for 50 items, from apparel to lingerie to accessories, priced between $17.99 to $89.99. So start saving up now and mark your calendar for September 14 when the collection hits stores. Watch this space for a sneak peek at what's to come...but for now, check out our favorite Altuzarra looks here. "

HAPPY SHOPPING LADIES!!
I will be personally shopping at select Targets here in Houston to get my hands on some of these fashion finds!
Below watch a sneak peek campaign ad, and see a few celebs rocking Altuzarra's clothing.

Fashion Collaboration: Gap x Visionaire.

For Visionaire No. 56 SOLAR (originally published in 2009), the NYC-based art and fashion pub developed a special UV-sensitive ink that changed black-and-white images to color when exposed to direct sunlight. Visionaire is reviving the SOLAR ink for a special collection of T-shirts in collaboration with Gap, which will be available at this year’s Frieze Art Fair, where Gap is operating an outdoor retail space designed by the architects Leong Leong.
“Since we knew the collection was coming out in May, our immediate inspiration was summer, color, and sun,” says Cecilia Dean, Visionaire cofounder.

The T-shirts feature artwork by Alex Katz, Yoko Ono, Richard Phillips, Ugo Rondinone, Peter Lindbergh, François Berthoud, and Roe Ethridge, some of which were published inVisionaire. When exposed to direct sunlight, the black-and-white prints on the tees turn to color—seen here in GIFs.
As with any sensible collaboration, this collection benefits both sides. “This is a great partnership,” says Rebekka Bay, Gap’s creative director. “[The collection] intersects fashion and art and allows a broader audience the opportunity to experience both brands.”

The T-shirts will be available in key global Gap flagship stores, select Visionaire retailers, Gap Boxpark in London, Gap White Space in Tokyo, and Gap White Space in New York, which will be dedicated to the Visionaire partnership from May 9-18.

Fashion Collaboration: GapKids x Kate Spade NY.

GapKids will collaborate with Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade to create a capsule collection this year! How exciting, I love GapKids campaign ads, the kids that model are too cute!

"The childrenswear range, which is due to launch in November, is the first time that the sister brands have ventured into kids clothing and they took to Twitter to share their excitement: "Wait no longer! We've been scheming with @gap and our collaboration with #gapkids is launching this November," tweeted Kate Spade New York."

If you recall, this will not be the first fashion collaboration GapKids will be doing. Their previous successful collaborations were with Diane von Furtsenburg and one with Stella McCartney.

Fashion Collaboration: Nike x PIGALLE Collection.

Here is an  exclusive first look at the collaborative collection from Nike and Pigalle (also known as PPP—Pain O ChoKolat, Pigalle Paris, Pompon).

"Sticking to the basics—sneakers, shorts, tanks—the Nike x PPP Collection is as straightforward as it gets, containing all the things ballplayers need and nothing they don’t.
Now for the specifics: There will be two version of the Air Force 1—one AF1 Hi and one AF1 Low—made in leather with a waxed coating that will age nicely with time, and a transparent outsole covering the geometric design of a coach’s play drawing. The rest of the collection is comprised of two tank tops, two pairs of shorts, a hat, and a ball. The garments are tie-dyed, faded, and distressed to create imperfections that will mimic the wear on the sneakers."

"“I wanted to take the shoe and make it alive,” says Stéphane Ashpool, a founding member of the PPP crew. “When you put the shoe on, you see the story, so I wanted to relate the patina, the way of dyeing and the texture together so it has the feeling of life.” The varnished and tie-dyed treatments used throughout the collection represent the character of a well-worn court.
Everything will be available at Dover Street Market on April 26."

Fashion Collaboration: Roland Mouret for Banana Republic.

"Banana Republic has tapped Roland Mouret for its newest designer capsule collection. Available in select stores and online in August, the close to 30-piece collection focuses on fit and streamlined, figure-flattering silhouettes.
“Partnering with Banana Republic on this project was such an adventure for me,” Roland Mouret said in a press release. “The common goal for this collection is to offer incredible fit through an assortment of hourglass silhouettes using Banana Republic’s Sloan fabric, extending my love of structure into accessible prices. These pieces are multi-functional for the modern woman to wear and accessorize in her own way, making her always ready for life’s journey.”
Mouret, who boasts Olivia Wilde, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and even Kate Middleton as his fans, will be translating his aesthetic for Banana Republic, creating everything from pencil skirts to blazers that feature bold colorblocking, leopard prints, and graphic perforated details. The best part? Snagging your own figure-hugging Mouret number will only cost you between $49.50 and $165. Start getting your closet ready now."

Fashion Collaboration: Alexander Wang x H&M.

How dope is this?
I love a good collaboration!
One of the hottest fashion designers collaborating with one of my favorite stores!
Am I the only one excited?

""Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today," H&M's creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch added. "He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that's infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year."

Wang's official Instagram page posted a video featuring a basketball scoreboard which showed a digital countdown to the "Wang X HM" launch. Another video then confirmed that an event at music festival Coachella - which will feature acts including Iggy Azalea - will take place today under the "Wang X HM" banner.

He follows in the footsteps of French designer Isabel Marant, who unveiled her highly anticipated offering for the Swedish retailer in November 2013. Some of the industry's biggest names - from Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Matthew Williamson to Versace, Lanvin and Marni have also designed for the high-street brand.
The collection will be unveiled on November 6.
I cannot wait to see this collection, should be DOPE!

Collaboration: Derek Lam x Jamie Wolf.

Photographed by Irving Penn, Vogue; June 1, 1948

Derek Lam and Jamie Wolf’s new collection of jewelry, inspired by George Balanchine and called Black and White.
"One, who knew Lam liked the ballet? Turns out he has been transfixed since moving to Manhattan all those years ago and seeing his first performance of the New York City Ballet. Two, who knew something representative of an art form so associated with froth and turns and tutus could actually be strict and straight and geometric? The rhodium-plated sterling silver suites Lam and Wolf have created reflect what Lam says is the “penultimate simplicity, rigorousness, repetition, and geometry in Balanchine’s choreography. It’s incredibly beautiful in a very spare way.” (It also sounds a lot like Lam’s own aesthetic, which may be why he quoted the dancer in his fall 2011 show notes.)"

"“He had such a purist approach,” says Wolf, who, before she turned to jewelry, danced professionally with NYCB and often goes to performances with Lam. “We wanted to pay reverence to that form and isolate movements or moments in a ballet in one single piece.”

For instance, earrings with dangling parallelograms encasing an abstract of black diamonds mimic the angles dancers’ arms and legs make during a specific count in Balanchine’s Agon.Interlocking circles of diamonds on a necklace echo the chain of limbs of ballerinas performing Serenade. Lam and Wolf’s stripped-back interpretation, in a way, feels particularly authentic to the discipline. "

"Lam explains his reaction to any Balanchine piece: “At the gut level, it just takes me away from the day-to-day. I love it.”"

Black and White, with 20 percent of proceeds benefitting NYCB, launches April 16 and will be available at Derek Lam on Madison Avenue and jamiewolf.com.

Pharrell Williams x Adidas.

Look at Pharrell work!
This dude knows how to make his money and I am not mad at him.
From wearing a Smokey the Bear hat to the Grammys to stepping out in shorts at the Oscars, Pharrell Williams has pulled a lot of "look at me!" stunts this year. Inevitably, he's laughing about it all the way to the bank, using his newfound meme-ability to rack up collaborations with UniqloComme des Garçons, and now, Adidas—a partnership he announced this morning.

Pharrell wouldn't reveal many details about the collection's aesthetic or pricing, but he did release this video:

Allure x Lauren Conrad.

The star opens up about how her reality-TV past has shaped her—and her secret for living peacefully with her fiancé. Go behind the scenes of her third Allure cover shoot, where she was photographed by Alexi Lubomirski in a retro-glam East Hollywood home.

In her Allure interview, Conrad was measured and kind and as emotionally opaque as a First Lady. Which is exactly how she wants it. "Doing reality television for such a long time made a big difference," she says. "People were in my bedroom." Maybe Conrad's enduring appeal isn't a result of letting people into her bedroom; it's that there wasn't a sex tape when we got there. "You have to represent yourself well no matter what you do," she says. Here, Conrad poses in a wool crepe dress by Juan Carlos Obando and suede-and-vinyl pumps by Aquazzura.

Decorating tips from Conrad, here wearing a Kaufmanfranco dress, spill over into relationship tips. "If it was up to me, my home would be just over-the-top girlie and vintage," she says, adding, with a Southern drawl, "but I share my home with a gentleman now," in reference to fiancé William Tell. Conrad, whose parents have been together since they were 17, says the number-one tip she learned from her mother about living with a man is that you need your own room. As for the bedroom? "I wanted it to be very calm." She's trying to break the habit of working in her bed. "Your bed is for sleep and sex," she says.

To prevent Conrad's '60s-inspired look—the cover—from verging on costumey, makeup artist Melanie Inglessis kept Conrad's skin "fresh and dewy." She drew a thick line just below the creases on the star's eyelids with a black kohl liner, then smudged a gray cream shadow into the creases. For a subtle glow, Inglessis blended a golden bronzer on Conrad's cheekbones, nose, and forehead. Then she pressed on a blush-nude lip color. Conrad's look can be re-created with the following: Clinique Kohl Shaper for Eyes in Black Kohl, Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Curvaceous Coal, Clinique Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator in Bronze, and Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Curviest Caramel.

Hairstylist Serge Normant gave Conrad's hair volume inspired by Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour."There's a chicness about it, even though it's sexy," says Normant. To get the look, he prepped the hair with a volumizing spray, blew it out, and then loosely curled it. For a "hint of retro, but soft, sex appeal," he brushed out and smoothed the curls before teasing the crown and sides. Here, Normant uses a blow-dryer as an impromptu wind machine while Conrad poses in a Paper Crown top and LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's jeans.

Conrad, posing here for Lubomirski in a dress by Juan Carlos Obando, hasn't let her reality-television fame turn her into a punch line; instead, it has turned her into a role model. Today, Conrad oversees five businesses, including her two clothing lines and most recently, the Little Market, a website that sells goods made by artisans in developing countries. Is she a budding Martha Stewart? "I wish!" says Conrad, her eyes going wide.

Peter Pilotto x Target.

Peter Pilotto collaborates with Target.
Full collection complete.

The full lookbook for Peter Pilotto's Target collection landed last night with a pop.
Naturally, the collab's bursting with the label's signature kaleidoscopic prints, but it also boasts a dizzying array of outfit options.
Rash guards tucked into mini skirts, slip-on sneakers paired with cocktail dresses—there's a strong focus on layering and mix-and-match-ability.
And while there's so much going on, so much of it is good—no small feat for designers more used to working within a $3,000 price point than a $30 one.

"We asked designers Pilotto and De Vos about the challenges of adapting their luxe line to a wallet-friendly capsule.
"You kind of go crazy about it, but in a good way," Pilotto told us, "to figure out the puzzle of how to make something really exciting, but within the limitations."
Judging by the lookbook, we'd say they pieced it together perfectly
Click through to see the full collection, most of which retails for less than $60 and goes on sale in Target stores and on Net-a-Porter.com on February 9, 2014."

Peter Pilotto x Target.

Photo: Courtesy of Pierre Bailly. Designers Pilotto and De Vos, center, in their own clothing, with models wearing, from left: Stertch-nylon swim top, $25, cotton, nylon, and spandex skrit, $35, cotton and nylon slip-on sneakers (shown on all three girls), $30 a pair, spandex-blend romper, $50, spandex-blend racer-back tank, $25, skirt, $35, all PETER PILOTTO FOR TARGET, at select Target stores nationwide starting in February, call 800-800-8800 or visit target.com.

Peter Pilotto collaborates with Target on a new collection.
"The artfully wrought nipped-waist dresses in Peter Pilotto’s spring/summer 2014 collection—digitally engineered prints painstakingly overlaid with acid-hued lace, broderie anglaise, and sequins—look fit for a futuristic garden party and prove that Pilotto and his co–creative director,
Christopher De Vos, are indisputable masters of merging cyber savvy with couture sophistication.

So, when Target came knocking, they jumped at the chance to extend their craftiness to more commercial ambitions. Of course, rompers, rash guards, and beach totes for under $100 can’t have the same hand-touched singularity, but Peter Pilotto for Target, launching early February, captures the essence of the mavericks’ aesthetic. The range—nearly 70 items in total—adapts hyperreal floral and geometric graphics to a wardrobe ready-made for a Montauk weekend. “Even if it’s a cheaper price point, it was mutually agreed with Target that the collection had to look very Peter Pilotto,” De Vos says. Whereas their own line features exclusive motifs applied to each garment, for the American chain they found new ways to effect kaleidoscopes. “We chose a couple of prints and used seams to achieve an engineered color silhouette,” Pilotto explains."

Alexander Wang x Dr. Dre.

" Today,WWD reports, Alexander Wang has teamed up with Dr. Dre to turn out a pair of limited-edition black and gold Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. It’s been a rap-filled year for fashion, what with Kanye West’s A.P.C. collab, A$AP Rocky’s cameo on the Hood by Air runway, and Jay Z’sPicasso Baby shoot, but for Wang, it would seem, it’s all about the D.R.E."

Who doesn't want designer beats by Dr. Dre? I know I would and I would just have them as a collectors item.
You need to know when to be flashy and know when to collect certain items.
These headphones are like collecting designer dolls.
Stay tuned!

Phillip Lim for Target.

3.1 Phillip Lim x Target

According to ELLE ""Finally, finally, we get to talk about it," said Phillip Lim as he walked into the editors' preview for the 3.1 Phillip Lim collaboration with Target
He took a sweep around the room.
"What a relief!" he added. The women’s and men’s 100-plus piece offering, divided into Morning, Noon, and Night lines, includes spinoffs of some of Lim’s greatest hits over the years, including a classic trench, an iteration of the Pashli bag (both mini and large), and the Ka-Pow comic-print sweater from a few seasons ago.
Also, there are the grab-and-go bags (one of Lim’s personal favorites), with sweet, lacy shorts and a tank, to be worn underneath or out.
We chatted with Lim yesterday to get the full scoop before the line drops on September 15. He opened up about superheroes, cocktail dresses, and what’s next for the burgeoning Lim empire."

I love to see high fashion house brands collaborate with department stores to give their clothing section a boost.
Boost in trendy and such, but also a boost in revenue.

RiRi and M.A.C. have joined forces on a new beauty line. The cosmetics super giant has previously teamed with icons (Pamela Anderson, Nikki Minaj, Lady Gaga) but this is the first time the brand will be releasing more than a one-off product range from a celebrity.
