Street Chic: Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

According to ELLE on Saturday, well-heeled New Yorkers headed to Liberty State Park to watch well-hoofed horses at the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. In attendance were Oscar winners, Lupita Nyong'o in Alexander McQueen, and Julianne Moore, who wore none other than CFDA nominee Rosie Assoulin. Besides the excitement of the match and the champagne, of course, the real show was in spectating the many fashions of the attendees.
Below are some of my favorite looks from the event!

Brand Ambassador: Lupita Nyong'o x Lancome.

Lupita Nyong'o is the new face of Lancome.
All I have to say is GO GIRL!

In the first look portrait from her campaign (above), the star sports a more natural makeup look (a stark contrast to the photos below) wearing some shimmery gold shadow and a beautiful nude lip.

“Both talented and committed, true to her African beauty, and showing a great curiosity and open-mindedness in her career choices, Lupita is by essence the Lancôme woman,” Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International, shared in the release. “A strikingly beautiful and intelligent woman, serenely but strongly living her life her own way, Lupita has this special kind of aura, both enlightening and deep.”
Lupita expresses her thoughts on being the new brand ambassador for the major beauty brand.
"“I am truly honored to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history and that I have always loved,” she said in a statement. “I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.” Her first campaign will launch this summer, and while we wait for the official unveiling, we looked back at some of the moments that made her such a beauty standout."

Fall 2014 RTW: Hermes.

"When describing his fall collection forHermèsChristophe Lemaire kept using the word wild. Which only goes to show you how deeply entrenched in the Hermès culture he is. He defines wild as tone-on-tone printed silk daytime pajamas with a toffee-colored fur coat thrown on top."

Shoes were kept to a stack-heeled sandal, a tassel loafer, and a flat boot. Wild?
“They’re not fashion soldiers,” he said of those he’s dressing. “They’re women.”

First Look: Lulu &Co.

Lulu Kennedy had rainbows on the mind when dreaming up Lulu & Co’s Fall ’14 collection—specifically how they perfectly represent the seventies Beat generation and the intellectual hippie who defined that era. “The Beat generation was all about spiritual leaders expressing themselves in a counterculture way: They were protesting at rallies, writing poetry, and generally making a lot of noise. It was like old-school social media,” Kennedy told Style.com. This translated into studied seventies looks, created via blouses with exaggerated collars, flared trousers with tiny rainbows, and mid-length denim skirts. Hexagonal prints on dresses, crystal floral details on belts and collars, and subtle Lurex trims kept things interesting and modern. Then there were those rainbows, which appeared on sweatshirts, dresses, and the trims of pockets and sleeves.

Every season, Kennedy collaborates with a creative, and this time around she chose Chad Wys, the very young American artist with a painterly, surreal aesthetic. A sweater boasting a Marie Antoinette-like figure, but with three slashes of paint across her body, is a standout. A Vermeer-esque landscape scene on a dress is given the same treatment. The whole effect is a jolting one, the collection what Kennedy considers a perfect fusion of two of her favorite things: art and fashion. Seems like many agree. At Net-a-Porter, 70 percent of the Spring ’14 was gone four days after it became available. And judging by what we’ve seen, Fall ’14 may well top that impressive statistic.
This collection also comes from a nostalgic place. “My parents were hippies and I grew up in this kind of environment, so it was fun for me to re-create my childhood memories. Also, while we were working on the collection, I was pregnant, and from early on I knew what her name would be.” The little girl (who’s just 3 weeks old now) is called Rainbow. Looks like the “Co” in Lulu & Co just got a little bigger—by 7 pounds and 3 ounces, to be exact.

Rihanna for CFDA Fashion Icon Award.

Rihanna is up for the 2014 CFDA Fashion Icon Award.
The critics say that Rihanna is undeserving of the award because she is not on the same platform as Iman, SJP, and Nicole.
Rihanna is a pop singer with a flare for fashion and she does not need approval for anyone about her personal style and wardrobe.
If they want to give her that award, I am all for it because I am a fan of her music and fashion sense!

She consistently pushes the envelope with fashion choices that are both thoughtful and progressive.
A talented and fearless dresser, there's no look Rihanna can't wear with aplomb, making her a coveted muse for any fashion designer. In recent months, she cemented her role as a visionary and astute businesswoman with three River Island collections designed with her main costumier, Adam Selman, several successful collaborations with M.A.C cosmetics, and a high fashion ad campaign with Balmain.

According to ELLE "When we look back on the legacy of CFDA Fashion Icon Award winners, Rihanna will be lauded for having it all. She boasts the trendsetting magic of a Sarah Jessica Parker, singlehandedly turning the asymmetrical bob into a ubiquitous sensation. She wields the power to make fashion merchandise fly off the shelves like Iman, evidenced by her success at M.A.C and River Island. She can mix any manner of trends and historical references for a street style that's uniquely her own, in the tradition of previous Icon Award winner Kate Moss. And like the 2011 recipient, Lady Gaga, Rihanna keeps us talking with sheer tops worn bra-less at fashion week parties and doobie wrap hairstyles worn onstage at global awards shows. She abhors rules and pays little attention to contemporary trends, thus transcending them all. With her try-anything approach to hair colors and willingness to wear anything once, she embodies the culture's "devil may care" attitude. And therein lies Rihanna's greatest asset: She is a true reflection of the times. Icon, indeed."

Fashion Faces.

Liu Wen for Rag & Bone.
The latest top model to join Rag & Bone’s all-star list of DIY campaign girls (a group that includes Miranda Kerr, Carolyn Murphy, and Karolina Kurkova): Liu Wen.
Liu shot in Manhattan and Coney Island.
“I loved all of the single pieces in the DIY shoot. The jeans and T-shirts I already wear on a regular basis, so it’s hard to choose one look,” she says.
“You can mix and match depending on your own mood, whether you want your look of the day to be casual, cool, or even punk.
My personal preference is adding a dash of the tomboy feeling.”
