Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik.

Rihanna's second Manolo Blahnik collection has arrived honey! I am a huge fan and support of Ms. Robyn Fenty honey! The name of this collection is "Savage". There is no doubt about Rihanna being a straight Savage when it comes to her career. She is fierce, talented, driven, and definitely a GO-GETTER!  Set to debut on November 16, the new designs are all winter boots, including the Dominique, a thigh-high design featuring floral brocade.

There's also the Alexis, a fur-trimmed, knee-high, lace-up boot.

I must say, that Alexis is my favorite boot from this collection. They look beyond warm and hopefully they are comfortable. Lastly, we have the Fallon, a style inspired by the Timberland boot Manolo first designed in 1994.

This particular style was an homage to Jennifer Lopez, who wore the high-heeled Timbs back in the early 2000s. These are some dope boots and Rihanna never fails to come through and light it up!

Movie Event: Angelina Jolie for Maleficent.

"Angelina Jolie went dark for her titular role in Maleficent, but for the film's photo call in London Friday, the actress was positively radiant! Less than 24 hours after she dazzled in a black Atelier Versace gown, the actress attended a press event at the Corinthia Hotel in a white knee-length dress by the same label.
The white dress was a subtle nod to the movie, courtesy of its hand-painted raven print. In the film, Maleficent relies on the shape-shifter Diaval (Sam Riley) to be her eyes and ears; to do so, he transforms into a raven.
Jolie's footwear was also apparently inspired by the movie, as the custom Christian Louboutin heels looked like thorns. The 38-year-old actress wore her blown-out brunette locks down and added a pop of color with a bold red lip.
During a recent press conference in Paris, Jolie said her Maleficent costume scared her six kids with Brad Pitt. How did she calm them down? "I brought them over to [Elle Fanning]. I introduced them to Sleeping Beauty, Prince Charming and all the nice people," she said, smiling. "They actually had to watch the prosthetics come on and off. I had a nosepiece and pointy cheeks and pointy ears and fangs in the back, so I had them come in and just watch all the pieces come off so they understood. But they really didn't like it. The littlest ones did—they thought it was fun. But Pax in particular was not OK with it at all. It's tough to see your mother that way. As a child, it's quite horrific.""

Are Heels Historic?

The Brooklyn Museum will explore questions about heels with its upcoming exhibition Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe. On view from September 10, the exhibit will feature 160 heels from as early as the 17th century to today. A main focus will be the sculptural, architectural, and artistic qualities of high heels, which range from the wearable to the avant-garde. On one end of the spectrum will be designs by household names like Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Chanel, and Roger Vivier, on the other, conceptual styles by Iris van Herpen, Elsa Schiaparelli, Zaha Hadid, and many more.

Highlights from the exhibit include Marilyn Monroe’s Ferragamo stilettos from 1959; silk, metal, and glass mules by Vivier for House of Dior from 1960; CĂ©line’s mink-covered pumps from Spring ’13; eight-inch platforms designed by Rem D. Koolhaas for Lady Gaga; and mind-bending 3-D-printed heels by Van Herpen.

In addition to the show, there will be a fully illustrated catalog with essays by Stefano Tonchi, Lisa Small, and Caroline Weber, as well as six short films inspired by high heels. The films were commissioned from artists including Steven Klein, Nick Knight, and Marilyn Minter. The full exhibition will also be traveling to other venues, which have yet to be announced.

Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe will run from September 10, 2014 through February 15, 2015 at the Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238.
