Paris-based jewelry designer Shourouk Rhaiem, blended part Maharajah and part sportif.
The two was composed of crystal-studded pieces for her latest eponymous collection.
Rhaiem cuts her teeth in fabric development at some of Europe's best labels, including Chloe, Cavalli, and Galliano.
Jean Paul Gaultier commissioned the designer to create jewels for his Fall ‘09 Couture extravaganza.
We all can see by her work why he asked.
For her latest collection, Rhaiem borrowed from the courts of Indian
monarchs, right down to the way the pieces are meant to be worn; certain
earrings, for example, include dangling chains meant to loop over the
ear.
Shorouk’s Swarovski crystal clusters are threaded on friendship bracelet
strings and summer camp-style lanyards.
They’ll hit Maryam Nassir Zadeh
later this summer.
